We were walking towards Angler’s cove early morning and saw a Green Heron land on the lower pond.
Apparently hungry, he waited very still in anticipation for something good to come by. A Great Blue Herron strolled onto the scene under the Ingram bridge, also focusing on a fish breakfast.
It was a long wait. Two birds waiting. Photographer waiting, camera lens at 800mm, focus locked, arms aching, wishing I’d brought my tripod. After about 10 minutes, the Green Heron got lucky. Back at home, it took about 2 hours to review and select among the 110 photos taken those few seconds between catch and swallow.
All photos taken with zoom lens at 800mm (eq.), ISO 200, no fill flash.
